1. Service Description
WhatsAppMD is a telehealth platform operated by HitchAfrica Technologies Limited that connects patients with licensed US physicians via WhatsApp. We provide a technology platform — we are not a medical provider. The medical care you receive is provided by independent, contracted physicians who are not employees of WhatsAppMD.
2. Medical Disclaimer
WhatsAppMD is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately. The AI triage feature provides routing assistance only — it does not diagnose medical conditions, and no AI output should be interpreted as medical advice.
Doctors on WhatsAppMD provide telehealth services within the scope of their licences. Not all conditions can be treated via telehealth, and your doctor may recommend in-person care when appropriate.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older to create a WhatsAppMD account. If you are creating family accounts for dependants, you must be the legal guardian or parent of the dependant.
WhatsAppMD services are available only to residents of US states where our doctors hold active licences. We verify patient location and doctor licencing for every consultation.
4. Payments & Refunds
Consultation fees are collected before the consultation begins. If your doctor does not join within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time, you will receive a full automatic refund. Refunds for other circumstances are evaluated on a case-by-case basis by our support team within 5 business days.
5. Prohibited Uses
You may not use WhatsAppMD to seek prescriptions for controlled substances for non-medical purposes, provide false medical history that affects your care, share your account with other individuals, or attempt to circumvent our verification or safety systems.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HitchAfrica Technologies Limited's liability for any claim arising from your use of WhatsAppMD is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim in the 12 months preceding the claim.
7. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Disputes will be resolved via binding arbitration under the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules, except where prohibited by law.
